INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM (IOP) and AFTERCARE
Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP)
The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is designed for clients who struggle with substance abuse and maintaining sobriety. This 8-week program offers weekly support for clients who are starting on the road to recovery. The group setting offers education and therapy, increasing the likelihood of maintained sobriety. The substance user learns:
Personal triggers that lead to using
Coping skills to avoid use
Relapse prevention
How to have fun and relax without substances
Healthy relationships
Accountability
Development of sober support
Aftercare Treatment
The Aftercare Program is designed for clients who have successfully completed an IOP program at Stepping Stone Community Services or elsewhere. This 10-week program offers ongoing support for clients who are transitioning to a lower level of care. In this treatment program, you have the opportunity o demonstrate how you are navigating your personal recovery plan. We discuss challenges, barriers as well as the successful application of recovery tools. The program will reinforce the core skills developed in IOP, encourage commitment to meaningful goals, and implement strengths-based and solution-focused exercises to address challenges and relapse. The program is designed to:
Provide support after completion of IOP
Review essential skills developed in IOP
Address relapse prevention and challenges with life transitions
Reinforce healthy coping skills
Improve communication and interpersonal skills
Receive interpersonal feedback
Identify and use solution-focused strategies based on strengths
